Seems like bigotryiskey here to me.
It's a two-way street, Wapasha. Some liberals start the "We are better, blah-blah-blah" threads, but I've seem quite a few conservatives start the "We are better, blah-blah-blah" threads. What's truly disheartening is the glee with which both sides engage in bashing one another.

True, but i think what we see is a lot of satirical payback, for some previous thread. But the liberals really do live and thrive on bigotry, just look at all the liberal organizations and legislation that built around class envy, racial, gender issues etc.. you don't see that with conservative groups.

just because they voted one way or the other FOR POTUS does not mean they are a 'red' or 'blue' state

North carolina has been a democrat stronghold for the last 100 years and still voted "red' for potus in 84,88,92,96,00,04 elections..yet they were CONTROLLED both houses and the governor by democrats

so much for the red/blue war
Again those are OLD MAPS.

Thanks for sharing.

The blue gets everything (including our taxes) and the red has little to show for the taxes it pays. Illinois would be a very different state if Chicago became it's own state.
Well, Mrs. O'Leary and her cow tried to burn Chicago down in 1871, but it did not take.

Did you even read what the guy wrote? The maps explain and prove his point perfectly.

The maps prove his point for the year that people voted. The most recent map he has in his post is from 2004.

His point was that the maps showed that states aren't blue/red for eternity but instead they are red/blue by a very small margin in most cases depending on the particular election. To call a state red or blue because it voted 51% to 49% in favor of one party over another I think is criminally insane.

In Virginia President Obama got 53% of the vote in 2008.

Red states feed off of blue states. Red states also receive more food stamp aid.
Really? Explain New Orleans, a democratic party ruled city for about a hundred years.

again the FACT is that how a state went for POTUS does not make that a 'red' or 'blue' state

you have states like north carolina that have has both house and the governor be democrat for the last 100 years but voted from republicans in the potus elections
