Why would you disagree with me? But your whining about $4/gallon a gas is telling of where you stand with your capacity on the subject, however.

Or you could take the green plunge, not to save the planet, but to go off grid so that the government cannot control your household via the coming "smart grid".

Why should someone tell me everything, much less politicians? It might work with you, not me.

Government leading the path, eh?

Could the string pullers be behind the Middle Eastern uprisings? To force a turmoil in oil prices?
How did this crap over there really start? One guy on Facebook?

I don't think there is anyone in our government that is smart enough and powerful enough to pull those strings.

On the other hand, the socialists know that their only way to grow government and control what people do and how they live is by taking one small step at a time.

That's why Al Gore and Barack Obama are so destructive to the future of our country. They are making big bloated government acceptable one step at a time. They are making it feel "normal" to have a big government telling us exactly how to live our lives.

It's pathetic.

That's pretty much been going on for the past 90 years.

Exactly! That's why we should let the market make these changes. As the price of oil goes up, people will CHOOSE to buy smaller cars and drive less.

And people have known for decades that incandescent bulbs are inefficient. But don't force me to buy CFLs which don't work in many situations and have huge environmental problems of their own. I'll buy them when they are appropriate and have a short CBA return.

Yes, and that's about the time span when government spending went from 7% of GDP to almost 45%.
