im going to be a contrarian here and say that its not in my place to say this is wrong.
im not going to argue with a religion im not familiar with. im sure many in the middle east think our way of life is wrong, and they should be quiet about that to.

I 'd just like to point out that some "conservatives" may point out how we all must be compelled by the suffering of those at the hand of Islam but will turn around and say when it comes to their neighbor in their country and health service " it isn't my problem you can't afford the meds, why should I be punished by taxes to help you? I don't owe you anything and it isn't my problem about your suffering, life is tough so deal with it".

I don't give a damn who these people are or about their religion, for gosh sakes, this is about sadistic, violent, inhumane behavior, and they are the ones, that should be put to death, give me a freaking break here. No. Sadly my support for the 'war on terrorism' has dropped off greatly since I've seen that we are only half committed to it and we aren't doing anything to change the underlying CAUSE of terrorism. We are only changing the faces. Without attacking the ideology nothing will change.
That is why I often emphesize the basis in Islam for which the terrorists commit their acts and what their beliefs are. In this tragic case they did cane the girl to death because they hated her. They didn't do it because they were poor or denied democratic rights. They did it because Mohammad instructed it. Even if these clerics are arrested and prossecuted (fat chance) they will just be replaced with likeminded clerics because they are following the same ideology. Until we change the ideology we won't make any progress and the first step in changing an ideology is to make everyone aware of exactly what it stands for. As long as people keep making excuses and point to the people instead of the underlying ideology then nothing will change.
