Drug addicted parents should not be raising children. Do you really think a drug addict is going to spend any money on their kids or get their kids to the doctor's? Kids need to be removed from the home. The home does not need to be given any more enabling money.
So if a parent can't afford the kid, the government should put the kid in a foster home?

If the parents are that irresponsible, then the children need to be removed from the home; not giving more enabling money to the irresponsible parents.
obviously a safety net has to be in place. no sane person is just going to let kids starve because of moronic parents.
i think conservatives try too hard to be wanna be conservatives when they come up with idiotic ideas to solve problems like this.
a sensible solution is the kid is removed from the hostile situation and put into social services. about the parents, could care less about there fate.

Conservative solution is for private organizations to deal with the needy, not to ignore them. The problem with the left is that they cannot get their tiny minds to comprehend how something good can be accomplished without the government doing it.
And if priviate organization can't or won't help the needy? I guess that is just fine with you if these people fall through the cracks.

I find that answer ridiculous. Telling people not to have children, and control their sexual urges hasn't worked since the beginning of time, and never will.
People will go without food, money, water, and give up their lives to procreate.
So you are in favor of the complete repeal of welfare, section 8, and food stamps, and let the free market take care of our young and vulnerable?
Obviously this is not as simple as ALL or NOTHING but for the MOST part, yes I think the private sector is more than able and willing to step up to the plate and help those that truly need help - especially children.
