Feb 10th 2011; Tallahassee, Fla. – Florida Governor Rick Scott today announced that Bing Energy Inc. (BEI) of Chino, California has selected Florida as the new site of the company’s world headquarters. BEI, in collaboration with Florida State University (FSU) Dr. Jim P. Zheng, is planning to turn revolutionary nanotechnology pioneered at FSU into a better, faster, more economical and commercially viable fuel cell. The move is expected to create at least 244 jobs paying an average wage of $41,655 in Florida.

“I am proud to welcome Bing Energy and thank them for recognizing that Florida is the best state in the nation. As Governor I am continuing to make it the best place to do business. This is only the beginning,” said Gov. Scott.

Well of course corporations are going to go where the government will get in bed with them. That doesn't mean many jobs will be created. In fact I predict few jobs will actually be created but this corporation will reap huge profits.

1) Replace "corporations" with "businesses large and small"
2) Replace "get in bed with them" with "create a business friendly environment"
3) ...
4) Profit! (pun intended)

Going to where there is little extra taxes than normal is best, because then they don't have EXTRA COSTS TO PASS DOWN TO YOU.
Does anyone here really believe all costs don't get past down? Anyone here so stupid as to believe it isn't YOU who ends up paying all extra taxes?

Of course cost are passed down, but your being naive if you think savings (tax cuts) are as well.

A company left a place that taxed heavily to a place that taxed less heavily. That's all that happened.

People invest in companies. If there is a profit then the shares are worth more or they pay dividends (both which are taxed).
If companies were seen to make obscene profits then your point would be a good one, but I don't know of any that have seen good profits for a long time.

Regarding lower taxes, there have been studies regarding what brings in the most money to the government.
In payroll taxes, a top tax rate of 28% brought in double the money to the treasury under Reagan.
As you go higher and higher than the 28%, you get less tax money into the treasury since fewer and fewer people feel it is worth working hard if you give it all away to the government.
