Quote:
“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says congressional lawmakers all are discussing taking some action in response to the Koran burnings of a Tennessee pastor that led to killings at the U.N. facility in Afghanistan and sparked protests across the Middle East, Politico reports. . . . Sen. Lindsey Graham said Congress might need to explore the need to limit some forms of freedom of speech, in light of Tennessee pastor Terry Jones’ Quran burning, and how such actions result in enabling U.S. enemies.”
These so-called men are proposing suspending the first ammendment right to free speach and expression, because they might offend fundimentalist nutcases who use their religion as an excuse to murder. What Graham and Reid are proposing borders on treason and are among the most repugnant statements ever made by elected officials in this country. At a minimum they should face a recall election, if not in fact a trial for treason. If we suspend the bill of rights and freedom of expression to appease fundimentalist terrorists, the terrorists win. They propose to give the terrorists everything they desire.

If these are the kinds of cowards we have as leaders, this nation is truely doomed.

Nothing they've said falls under the crime of treason. Treason would require Reid and Graham to actually help islamic terrorists orchestrate an attack on the United States.

Wanting to limit free speech falls no where close to treason. Congress has attempted to limit it on numerous occasions, and has come very close regarding flag burning.

Lindsey Graham is no Conservative. He is you Progressive Lite, moderate.

Just because he has an R by his name, doesn't make him a Conservative.
If he had been you for election in 2010, he would have been gone in the primaries.

Two of the most progressive long time "leaders" in Congress. For some reason their constitutents chose to send them back despite the damage both have done to our country in years prior.

Limits have been placed on the 2nd Amendment and the First already. The 4th Amendment has been basically gutted by the Patriot Act. How is this any different?

Congress, the POTUS, and even the SCOTUS just keep whittling away at the Constitution and Americans just keep electing the same grabbers of liberty over and over again.

Is limiting the speech of Americans giving aid and comfort to the enemy? If so, then it might be treason. I suspect that Obama giving aid to Al-Qaeda rebels in Libya is a better qualifier for treason. YMMV.

What Graham and Reid propose is exactly how radical Islam and Sharia law got a foothold in Britain. Citizens could not speak out against or it became "hate speech". This is a dangerous precident and plays into the hands of radical Islam. They seek to make dhimmis out of all of us.

Lindsey Graham is indeed a conservative and his voting record shows that. He may work across party lines every now and then. He may not be the hardcore right of a Jim Demint or Inhofe, but he has always been conservative and his voting record shows that.

He is not a progressive, nor is he even a moderate as his voting record isn't even remotely close to actual moderates such as Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe or Scott Brown.

I have no idea if it qualifies as treason. But, I tell you, I and I imagine many Americans would do whatever possible to get them removed. The whole idea is disgusting. I agree with you. Sharia Law anyone?

Treason is defined as declaring war on your own country and aiding a foreign enemy power in the process. Only if those two conditions are met then someone can be guilty of such.

Harry Reid and Lindsey Graham have done neither.

Graham has a lifetime 89.82 rating from the American Conservative Union, meanwhile Collins is 50.47 and Snowe is a 48.39. You don't get a ACU lifetime rating of around 90 without a conservative voting record....

What is Conservative about big spending and big government, along with his stance on allowing millions of illegal parasites to come and go freely across the border?

Progressive Lite. You still get skrewed, just there is more foreplay.
