I am only 25 years old. I started investing from scratch when I was 20, and it will take a few years for returns to compound. I will get there by the time I am 32 years old, if my investment projections are correct.
So you're assuming you might be one day. A lot of people younger than you are/become billionaires or at least multi-millionaires. No?

You are right, and I don't work hard enough or make the necessary sacrifices to be a millionaire at 25, nor do I want to be one. I am content with my career and what I make, so why would I go after even more money?
My personal portfolio is sound (it didn't drop once during the recession) and my career field is growing. I am friends with people who are my age and in the top 1% and honestly, the lifestyle is not worth the money.
But you are absolutely right. The fact that I am not already in that 1% is 100% my fault. I don't shift blame away from myself when it comes to how I am doing in my life.
Balance anyone? Im sympathetic to the plight of the working poor. And there are FAR more of these people than the righties will admit. I have little sympathy for the couch potato class. There are FAR more of these than lefties will admit.
Peoples wages are a good indicator of their worth to the economy but by no means perfect.
Anyone going to argue that hedge fund managers get far more than their actual contribution to the country?
Anyone going to argue that army privates get far less than their actual value to the country?

I am sorry? I am asking the individual to be responsible for their own life. No more, no less. A person should blame no one but themselves for anything wrong with their life, rather than blaming the wealthy or successful for a person's lack of success.
How the hell is that blaming others? We wouldn't be having this discussion if you knew what personal responsibly was.

Ask the unions who choose to have layoffs instead of sharing some sacrifices so their OWN members will still have a job about greed over need.
What? They are not self-defeaters and you hate them for that?
