I want to write a book about politics! My Conservative Friends! Please help!
I feel like writing a book to let a lot off my chest and to see how much I learned. I want to go over issues in modern US politics and stand where I stand and why!
But I need some help from the Conservative friends here. You know who you are!
If you could please go over your stances on following and why you believe it, it would be awesome. I want to see if I can see it from your point of view and write about it.
Why so pro military?
How important are gun rights?
Do you think conservatives as a whole will ever accept gay marriage/pro choice?
What beliefs are the US based on? Do some conservatives actually have somewhat socialism views-like UHC?
Where does religion/Church play a role?
Any Conservative for union? Why so anti union?
Do you support states leaving the USA?
Death penalty? Yes or no?
Are women's right important? How important?
How do conservatives believe we can reform education? (THIS IS A BIG CONCERN TO ME! OUR COUNTRY IS FALLING BEHIND)
What is the worst political mistake in history? (nothing from at least 20 years ago)
How do conservatives believe we can help the poor people (who are truly on welfare and not abusing it for help but cannot find jobs)?

Why so pro military?
It is the strenth of our military that keeps this country safe from hostile take overs.
How important are gun rights?
Very! If I need to protect my family from an attacker who is armed a knife won't help me but a gun will.

I am pro-choice and I'm not against gay rights or marriages.
What beliefs are the US based on? Do some conservatives actually have somewhat socialism views-like UHC?
This question is a little confussung, I feel the USA is based on the beleif that ALL citizens have the right to choose as long as their actions do not infringe on others rights to choose.
Where does religion/Church play a role?

Labor unions? Labor unions are too similar to government control, as long as there's something in it for the big guy they will fight for you.
Do you support states leaving the USA?
Yes, making anyone stay isn't freedom.

YES!

Yes, very important (even though you see my comments in the abortion section as askew from this)

Crank up the pay for teachers and require tougher standards to become one. Education originates in the home, teach a child that learning is fun and not a task.

Franklin Roosevelt, it was his welfare policies that formed the huge mess we have today (welfare is only the first thing for him)

(You are assuming I'm not poor and I'm employed) Education! Help a man when he's down. Help him up and teach him to stand on his own then he will help others with the value of self-relience in his heart.

Ship them out; we have laws about legal immigration for reasons. Illegal immigrants take jobs and could bring in diseases. We all know that any child going to school needs immunization shots before school so we do not spread sickness across the nation. Illegal immigrants do not get these same shots; they can be carriers of disease.

I feel conservatism focuses on self responsibility with the willingness to help others that need help. I see being a conservative as being proud of my own accomplishments.
If I may recommend a book as a starting point for your effort: The Vision of the Anointed by Thomas Sowell.
Although as you know, I'm not a conservative in the sense the term is normally used today, I've always really admired Sowell's intellectual method, if not his precise conclusions. In a paradoxical way, I think that book shaped me more than any other political book.
If both liberals and conservatives adopted humbler stances, started talking to voters like grown-ups, and communicated in terms of process costs and trade-offs rather than in terms of finding cure-all solutions, we would all be much better off.

What beliefs are the US based on? Do some conservatives actually have somewhat socialism views-like UHC? Socialism is already a part of many organizations in the US. In some weird way I can understand the idea of being a Socialist Democrat/Conservative.
Where does religion/Church play a role? Very important even if you don,t believe. It can help with establishing a communal conscience within the country.
Any Conservative for union? Why so anti union? Unions are fine but they obviously need checks and balances without greed prevails.
Do you support states leaving the USA? No. You will cease to have a nation under that guise. Hence states rights.
Death penalty? Yes or no? NO
Are women's right important? How important? They bear future generations. I just wish more woman understood the importance they play in being homemakers, mothers ,and spouses. When they are truly the backbone of the family unit.
