The door are and have always been open, the problem is some people don't want to wait to come through that door legally so they sneak in through a window in the middle of the night.
I'm sure the family members of all the Americans killed every year by illegal aliens love lists like that. I'm sure all the police officers who have been murdered by illegals would care what the ACLU has to say.

Sure they do, is that supposed to justify allowing illegal aliens to kill our citizens? Americans commit all sorts of crimes, should we just ignore the crimes of illegals who shouldn't even be here in the first place?
That is a partisan site. It ignores the fact that by simply entering the United States illegally, a person is committing an infraction against the United States. I'd love for more immigrants to be allowed into the United States, but that's not going to happen when millions of people cheat the system and come illegally.

Put them in jail if they commit crimes. Their immigration status has nothing to do with the crimes they commit.

No it's not, it takes time but everything that's worth doing or earning takes time. Some people simply don't want to wait, they aren't coming here for to become Americans and to embrace what America is about... they're coming here to work for cash or use a stolen SSN, live in an apartment with 13 other guys, drive on our highways without insurance and send money back to their families every month. They claim 20 dependents to get around paying taxes on those stolen SSNs and all sorts of other clever things like that.

How about opening the borders, so we could get rid of the illegal immigration problem. Open the borders. That way, everybody who comes to this country is legal.
The true irony is that America was the "asylum of tranquility" free from pesky wars and now we are the war mongers, meddling here, there and everywhere.
