Obviously I am coming from a different political point of view.
On the other hand I try to be respectful and civil. I do not accuse those who disagree with me as "psycho" (something only a qualified psychiatrist can diagnose) and I will not stoop to childish name calling.
If we had a Universal HC system, you would have a partial point.
It would all go away. I just don't understand why folks
can't understand: to get rid of all the B.S. we NEED
single payer in this country. PP adds to the problem -
they are filling a need, but not voicing what we really
need, at tax payers expense.
Every congressional representative, apparently does
not want to represent the reality - without a single
payer system in this country, we are doomed.
Read the constitution. Nowhere does it say the federal government is supposed to take money away from it's citizens and fund abortion services or even planned parenthood for that matter. The primary goal of the U.S. Government is to protect the country.
Abortion? WHY is it necessary in most cases? I can see issues of rape/incest, mother's life/health at stake, etc. BUT... Millions of abortions? Simply cause some man couldn't keep it in his pants, or some woman couldn't keep her clothes on? There's a thread about someone who's already had like 15 or more abortions... WHY? Use birth control, or don't have sex, but don't take money out of the mouth's of my family, or keep me from buying stuff for my grand daughter, because you wanted to have sex and the expected consequences took place.
Yes, it's curt, and ugly, but it's the truth. Medical services like mammograms and blood pressure, I don't have a problem with, but getting pregnant, that's avoidable. We are supposed to be better than the animals, why act like the animals.
maybe if you would read even one piece of publication that wasn't totally biased you would get a better feeling for what is really happening in the country and how most people feel??
As I've already stated, O'Donnell is a good man and a great journalist, provided one has a heart and a brain to understand and appreciate the man.
Your ill conceived notions of Planned Parenthood are your problem. Education is important and your first step towards the reality based community
there are many other places to get education that do not stress Abortion as a women's first option. They make their money performing abortions, face it. If all they were doing is educating young people it would be one thing, this is not what they do or it isn't the only thing they do. For those who say their daughters are using PP for birth control and GYN check ups, fine. but what about using family health care insurance, unless you do not carry it. Almost every plan I have seen covers most college kids...
Why do you need the government to make sure you act responsibly? Because that's what Planned Parenthood is - A place for the irresponsible to go figure out how to use a condom/birth control (its not hard to do), figure out how many kids you can afford (with your welfare check), and figure out how to abort that child when they screw up.
Do you honestly believe that the smartest and financially fit of our society actually use PP? Of course not. It's those who have zero personal responsibility and rely on the government to provide.
Why do you support this? More importantly, why do you think the government has a role in this segment?
Lawrence O'Donnel makes me gag by the way. Regardless of his view of PP, I hold him in almost higher contempt than I did Olberman. Gag-A-Maggot
there are plenty of responsible people that use PP

Then it sounds like you're fine with Planned Parenthood as it stands, since no federal funding can go for abortion services (except in cases or rape, incest, life of the woman) since the 1970's. Federal funds go for medical services, education, family planning, and contraception.
