And this is why no one takes the far right seriously. Coming up with claims like this without absolutely any evidence.
The biggest recipients of Obamacare "Early Retiree Reinsurance Program" are CBS and The Washington Post.
The fund has already paid out over $2 billion to corporations.
The fund reimburses corporations up to 80% of retiree health benefits.
Fund was estimated to last until 2014 but will be "dry" by early 2012.
The information is out there but not front and center on the major MSM sites.

Two mainstream news organizations are receiving hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars from Obamacare’s Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP)
Nope, not billions there to media. You didn't read the entire article.
It's part of a program that FUNDS many companies, including some media outlets (and according to the article, it was only CBS and the Washington Post) . CBS however, is not entirely a "media" outlet. They do other things as well, and the issue is whether or not they have a retirement program that the government felt was reflective of the program to receive that money.
Other entities that received money:
Labor Unions.
Some private companies
Some State funded unions.

Again, they were provided the money because they already have Early Retirement programs in place, that would include comprehensive health coverage to the retirees
Another case of "headline" only reading and not fully reading the article in question.
And to address your "lie" about billions to media outlets:
$2 billion of the $5 billion program was spent. A majority of that money went to private companies from the WASHINGTON post article
Quote:
In addition to CBS Corporation and the Washington Post Company, recipients of ERRP funding include the United Auto Workers union, which secured $206,798,086 in taxpayer money, AT&T, which took in $140,022,949, and General Electric (GE), which raked in $36,607,818. GE has made headlines recently for not paying any U.S. taxes last year. IBM got $12,989,690 in taxpayer money.
Verizon pulled $91,702,538 in taxpayer cash, too, and General Motors received $19,002,669. More than $6 million went to different Teamsters groups nationwide, and millions more went to the United Mine Workers, United Food and Commercial Workers, the AFL-CIO and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
so of the list, 2 media outlets were provided the money to help promote and establish early retirement programs. The rest were private companies and unions, and together CBS and WaPO received less than $1.3 million.

THE UAW received 200 times that amount.
Talk about blatant twisting of facts.
If you look at the bigger picture..corporations didn't need those subsidies and had been operating just fine with their retiree programs.
Obamacare was supposed to be for those individuals who could not get or could not afford individual healthcare.
The corporate subsidies should have never been in that bill and notice they kicked in immediately while individuals have to wait years. By then obamacare will be in the red and will totally fall apart and the individual will end up with nothing and the corporates will have sucked whatever taxpayer money they could have out of the system.
CBS and The Washington Post are but two examples in ONE program. I'm sure there's plenty of other government programs out there that are subsidizing these corporate giants at the expense of the taxpayer.

Wow! Is the fact that so much tax payer money was given to the Unions supposed to be reassuring??? (Maybe is to some progressives who know it will help get Obama reelected; but not to this conservative tax payer.)

Oooh, nice backpeddaling there! It makes NO difference who the other recipients of this ERRP program are, none. This particular thread is about the media, and they did receive taxpayer money. I gave you just one instance of media outlets receiving taxpayer funds, but if you extracted your head from your nether regions, you might find many more examples. What about NPR? Do they not receive taxpayer funding? Add it all together and it's in the billions, but don't take my word for it. Do your own research.

only 5.8% of NPR's revenue come from federal support.
