Yes. Then again there are people who believe that racism is allowing slavery and making black people drink at the colored water fountain and anything less than that isn't racism. So there are people that think racism doesn't exist today, period.
All I can say is if they ever date a person of color, it will become pretty obvious to them how much racism there still is.
I don't get it when people make statements implying there is no more racism in American because the President is Black.
Do people really believe that?
First of all, what they mean is, "Stop whining about being discriminated against and that stopping you from achieving in life...the effin' president is black!"
So what they mean is that we're in a time in history where using 'the white man's keepin' me down' excuse does not fly anymore.
Second of all, why is he black if he's half black and half white?
I never read anyone on this forum saying that racism doesn't exist. What I do read are people being very dishonest about who is responsible for the vast majority of real racism i.e. violent assaults, stabbings, beatings, shootings, constant intimidation tactics and general targetting of people based on their race. They would rather shine the spotlight on harmless, albeit rude and obnoxious namecalling (sticks and stones etc.) in hopes that the real racial violence problem in the US will be continued to be swept under the rug. And of course anyone who points this out will be called a racist.
