Referring to it as a 'lifestyle' is a little offensive, just fyi. They're humans just like you and me, they just happen to be attracted romantically to someone of the same sex. That's it. No other difference. There are monogamous gays, promiscuous gays, family oriented gays, there are gays into S&M, and gays into more vanilla stuff , just like straight people.
As for exposing kids, do you think they should be allowed to hold hands or kiss in public like straights do? How about have dinner together in a nice restaurant? Should they not have books written discussing that sometimes a child may have two parents that are the same sex? I think children understand and accept a lot more than you give them credit for.
-Straight, gay, lesbian 'lifestyle' is all good with me. They should have all of the same rights as any other law abiding adults.
Get on one of the GLBT sites that is oriented towards youths and you will see what I am reffering to. I really don't think a junior high schooler should be confused by the GLBT agenda and it is an "Agenda". And its not about hand holding and reading a book about having two mommies.
9 million out of 350 million? .. hmmm .. The population of Harris County Texas .. hardly news .. and the funniest part of it all is that on the political end of it, it's expected that the entire nation succumb to the notions and the whims of a mere 9 million .. it boggles the mind.
It doesn't boggle my mind, or the minds of most intelligent people. And I'm not sure what you mean by the "notions and whims", but most Americans support full civil rights for gays, including civil unions. Please explain how gays are making you feel disenfranchised.
As for the number of gays in America, it really doesn't matter. There are certain principles that most Americans adhere to. Being a small minority doesn't preclude a group from being treated with respect or treated equally.
Wow that's underinflated. I always thought it was 10% of the population who was "out" but then several more in the close, and then tens of millions more who aren't "100% straight."
It's hard because the only way to count things like this is self-reporting. You have a lot of gay people who are closeted and will never admit to being gay, and a lot of trans people who are stealth and won't say they're trans, either.

Which is good. A little reticence is universally beneficial.

Equal rights
Non-discrimination
A reduction in hate crimes
Things like that, mostly.
