Sacramento business owner wins ADA lawsuit | TahoeDailyTribune.com

According to the article,a California small business owner, Johnnie Walker, who spent 6 grueling months doing his own research finally won a "frivolous" lawsuit including reimbursement for the $5,000 court costs against a man named Johnson, who appears to be a "professional" at filing frivolous lawsuits involving obtuse government ADA regulations. The guy is now being looked at as a type of hero for small businessmen, who are flooding him with phone calls asking how they too can fight back against a government/legal system gone amok, thwarting the ambitions of hardworking, honest small business owners in this country.

"According to official court documents, Johnson has filed more than 400 federal cases of this kind against businesses. Year after year, Johnson has filed an increasing number of ADA claims; in 2004 he filed 40. In 2005 he filed 99. In 2007, the number came to 131. Last year it was 318."

“Who goes to nine different dentists or 75 different auto repair shops in one year?” Walker asked."

What a shame this man had to go through all this just to keep his business afloat. With everything seeming to be increasingly biased against the small business owners these days, from taxes, restrictions and ridiculous regulations, we are nearing the point of needing to label them a protected group and enact civil liberty laws for them!

If the guy that is filing them is winning I wouldn't call them frivolous, I'd call them predatory.

That would be more accurate! He is a predator. Not only is he harassing the small business owners, he is wasting our tax dollars if they end up in court. I'm glad this one business owner took the time and effort to fight back and win. Hopefully, the word will get out and more people will do the same instead of settling!

It would be interesting to find a lawyer that would file a class-action lawsuit against this slimeball.
