Kind of amusing the right is so gaga over a planet being granted the same rights as a human while they have no qualms granting those rights to a corporation, good to know where their hearts lie.

Both the extreme left AND the extreme right are populated by idiots...

What's even worse is that we, as a society, have become so polarized that we are unable to recognize a good idea if it comes from outside of our political party.

Sounds like corporatation rights. And they are the one's stripping and degrading Mother Earth while funneling increasing amounts of the spoils to the very top.

So turnabout is fairplay.

Well, as long as you're completely ignorant in the matter, yes. Honestly, I don't know how some of you people make it thru the day. BTW, feel free to disparage my sources. It spent all of 2.5 minutes on them. If you spent about 30 minutes on this subject you'd find a lot of better information from sources you like......that say the same thing.

China, the "factory of the world", is the most polluted country

Beijing (AsiaNews/Agencies) – "China has paid a high price in environmental terms" for its rapid economic development over the last 20 years. This is what Pan Yue, vice-director of the State Administration for Protection of the Environment (SEPA) told the seventh Green Forum of China, which opened on Saturday 18 June in Beijing.

According to Pan Yue, development must respect the needs of the environment and society, or else the predicted economic growth rate of 400% in 2020 will bring a corresponding increase in pollution and exhaust the country's natural resources. Even if China has become "the factory of the world", he said, it exports only "products of low industrial level" to more developed nations and "consumes its own resources", both material and environmental. For example, China uses more water and dumps more sewage than any other nation. Its gross domestic product is between 400 and 1,000 US dollars per capita, but its pollution levels are similar to those in western countries with a GDP per capita of between 3,000 and 10,000 dollars........

Troubled Lands
The Legacy of Soviet Environmental Destruction
by D. J. PetersonSave to My RAND
PrintShare During 70 years of communist rule, the former Soviet Union inflicted wide-spread environmental damage throughout Russia and the Soviet Republics in its quest for military and economic power. Now that the USSR is gone, the newly independent states are forced to deal with this legacy of destruction in an effort to rebuild their economies. This book utilizes case studies, interviews with old and new government officials, and records of the actions of industry, military, government, and grass-roots environmental organizations to build a cohesive picture of the overwhelming ecological challenges facing the successor states. Also, it reflects on the roles and responsibilities that the advanced industrialized nations could play in mitigating these problems. Beyond this, the book provides important lessons for all nations that aspire to achieve the delicate balance between economic prosperity and environmental responsibility.

This is just another item on the "proof the left are idiots" list.
For more proof, just watch what they say and do, on a daily basis.....

The bid aims to have the UN recognize the Earth as a living entity that humans have sought to "dominate and exploit" — to the point that the "well-being and existence of many beings" is now threatened.

UN document would give 'Mother Earth' same rights as humans

Sorry if you think this does not apply to you personally ROFL
Yeah, it's almost as stupid as giving Corporations the same rights as citizens. Boy that would be a kneeslapper...
