I do not hear Republicans talking about cutting our over bloated military to help balance the budget.

I assume that they do not want to make the cuts.

Why?

Why not?

I don't hear Democrats talking about cuts either.

With the US involved in 3 countries, it's pretty nil that we'd cut back.

So you want people who are putting their lives on the line so you speak badly about them to pay for their own weaponry and armor now?

As soon as Barry agrees to NOT unilaterally attack any more countries we will talk.

Obama mentioned it in his speech.

You cannot even talk cuts until we get out of the ME.
Bring the soldiers home..ALL of them, even the combat soldiers relabeled as "peace keepers" and then bring up the subject of cuts to the military.

You are not smart enough to put words into my mouth with your lying presumptions.

I am a Vet.

You will never hear me speak badly about any soldier.

I do not want our soldiers poorly armed.

I want our soldiers back home.

I favor a smaller, leaner, and modern trained military.

Maybe you should know what you are talking about, who you are talking about, or just keep quiet.

Default Will the Republican Party Suggest Deep Military Spending Cuts?

Of course not.

Because they're not the least bit serious about deficit reduction. If they were, their first priority wouldn't be to grant trillions in tax cuts to those who already hold unimaginable wealth. The trillions "saved" by cutbacks in the Ryan plan would be doled out to billionaires as tax rebates. Thus, his plan does practically nothing to reduce the deficit. It's ridiculous, but the GOP is touting it as a serious proposal. Which indicates the state of the Republican party currently.

They're playing silly, juvenile games. They want to cut government services to the middle class and starve revenue to the point that any remaining services are minimized.

Except "defense". Lots of their favorite contributors are defense contractors. They want THAT part of the budget to remain fat.
