With the economy still in shambles and high unemployment, why are elected republicans around the country trying to enact so much social legislation?

You mean like Health "care"?

Oh wait, that was the largest social spending bill in history passed by Democrats during a recession.

Religion based social authority has been key to right wing politics forever and in every country. America is no exception. This keeps them getting elected, and they shall oblige.

They know they cannot do anything but raise unemployment so they sell the sizzle of Religious Piety instead of the steak of economic advancement for all. It is just easier to sell anti choice and anti gay than their real policies. The true believers have been trained to salivate over this deception for years by Nut cake radio and weekly sermons demonizing the sensible.

Can the liberals please explain to me why they refuse to concentrate on the economy? Why do they feel the need to deflect with unsupportable statements?
