And that is the beauty of it. The progressives are free to live in the cities and pay higher taxes while the conservatives can move elsewhere and pay lower taxes.
There is choice here; choice you can live with.
yeah, but those progressives are like roaches. They ruin one place and then move somewhere else and try to change it to their liking. There are areas here in SA where I'd swear I was back in california. It's like an infestation that needs an exterminator...
You know, if we could actually get corporations to pay their actual taxes, and eliminate this corporate-welfare state we have we could probably lower taxes. Instead we have mega companies that actually make money from the tax system because they have the resources to do so, meanwhile the small and medium size companies that don't know how to dodge taxes suffer. This is not capitalism, this is crony capitalism where winners and losers are picked by Uncle Sam and a select few billionaires.

I agree about the crony capitalism but why would you want them to pay taxes? They'll just pass as much as they can onto the consumer and cut jobs if needed to make the money back.

Texas doesn't have a state income tax so there's no tax for them to dodge.
This thread is about CA/TX and job creation.
Having a bunch of oil and natural gas in Texas does help. The rigs are going full tilt in the Fort Worth/Barnett Shale area.
Having perfect weather certainly helps California's tourist industry. Two can play at this game.
