Who controls the media? Why don't they want Americans to know that a massive youth movement is building and their intent is to shift away from the old power structures; big oil; big coal; and move toward research and development that might leave a livable planet for these youth.

These youth have managed to have entire universities get off of coal fired power, and not just a few but many. These youth have managed to shutter old, dirty burning coal plants.

I found this interesting that there's no FOX, no CNN, no MSNBC. Take notice people; the movement is gaining momentum, and it is not going away. This is these kids' future that is at stake.

This is precisely why sites like Twitter and Facebook meet a demand. They aren't controlled by by oligarchs.
Nah.

Not worthy of TV coverage.

Another bunch of loony leftists with no real world experience who just finished watching "An Inconvenient Truth".

I see these people at festivals I attend and they spout off how fossil fuels are killing the Earth and the logging is too. Well I always go to their booths and wait til a crowd gathers then ask them this: 1- how did you get to the festival today, Oh you drove a SUV/car/van? gee there goes their credibility on hurting "Mother Earth" 2- where do you live a tent, a cave or maybe out in the open - A HOUSE one that uses wood, shingles - Oops again so much for saving the planet and oh does that house have electricity? - IT DOES - Oops again the power for their home is from a coal fired power plant! THEY don't want most of us to use fossil fuels BUT they do. Follow the money, see their actions its all about power, control and profit.
Then you agree with Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. who complained that the I-Pad is ruining jobs by eliminating the need to print and sell books, newspapers, etc... You would have also agreed with those who complained when electricity and the combustion engine made lamp oil providers and blacksmiths obsolete.

The argument to stop progress because some people make money off an outdated system is not a valid argument. Never has been, never will be.

To the OP - while I support and appreciate these students' efforts to evolve us, rallies come through DC all the time for countless causes. Hardly anybody takes notice of most of them unless they are massive like Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity.

Keep an eye on this movement. Stupid keeps getting stupidier, and Palin no longer draws big crowds. She's 130lbs of has been.
Yeah that's what the hippies of the 1960's thought. Guess what they all grew up to run those big bad corporations. You anarchists need to get a clue.

these youths dont understand, under the liberals we are no longer a nation of workers that actually work, but a nation of 'managers' that produce nearly nothing
I'll tell them to read your posts as examples of what NOT to think. Liberals are no more responsible for shipping jobs overseas as they are for the Japanese quake. It is conservatives primarily who are so pro-business that accountability and ethics are expendable just to increase profits.

The fact that the media doesn't cover this story is evidence enough to erode any idea that the media is liberally biased. The media is corporate and whatever the CEOs want, they'll get. We're no different from China and other countries that censor the news. It's time we fight that truth.

Liberals can always reach out to the youth when adults catch on to their scams.

I find it sad that on one hand you want the new generation to be entrepreneurs and innovators who create the new job markets of the future, yet at the same time mock and ridicule anybody who doesn't adhere to the status quo of 1955 as the best we can do.

You mean "well connected" entrepreneurs and innovators who will get millions of tax payer dollars to start building things that won't sell and nobody wants? Then they'll get another bailout.

You clearly don't know much about the renewable energy industry. Private companies are investing many billions worldwide. This nation is either going to lead or be left behind in that emerging industry. All you all can do is laugh at people trying to lead. It's okay to be a follower, but just make sure you're out of the way of the leaders.
