It is a term that even Black people have used describing a Black person who was subservient to Whites.

Don't know if you could call that racist but it certainly was meant to be derogatory.


I don't know of any Black people in this day and age who would accept being subservient to anyone.
And that's a good thing.

Uncle Tom is more a slur and mostly reflects the ignorance of those using the term.
Racist? No. not in my opinion.

I have neighbors who said it was used against them for moving out of their mostly black neighborhoods as well.
Not needed IMO.
