Nope. And that is before counting the self-defeaters, the brain-washed, that reside within that "majority". James Madison had a point...

"The landed interest, at present, is prevalent; but in process of time, when we approximate to the states and kingdoms of Europe, — when the number of landholders shall be comparatively small, through the various means of trade and manufactures, will not the landed interest be overbalanced in future elections, and unless wisely provided against, what will become of your government? In England, at this day, if elections were open to all classes of people, the property of landed proprietors would be insecure. An agrarian law would soon take place. If these observations be just, our government ought to secure the permanent interests of the country against innovation."

The wise and the resourceful have respected that idea since.

You dont think the majority has influence in shaping the national system? You dont think the majority is demanding things like higher taxes on the minority and receiving it? You dont think the majority is asking for things like more welfare programs and getting it? You dont think the majority is demanding more social security, medicare benefits, and they get put into place? Things like housing, prescription drugs etc?

Where on gods earth do you live that you dont think these people collecting more and more unemployment, increased food stamps (Obamas stimulus package included $300B for food stamps as an example), nationalizing of healthcare demands, and even demands for the government to pay for peoples housing.

My god Eistein you must have your head in the sand if you dont see the increased demands for more social programs funded by the minority taking place..
You forgot the free cellphones

Did you know the average "poor" person as defined by the government owns their own home, has at least one car and has internet and cable.
Some definition of poor..huh ?

Your right.. it must be the small minority of "successful" people demanding $300B in increased food stamp funding, nationalized healthcare, and programs like social security that they would never collect from

Would the majority prefer a nationalized health care?

This poll says that most Americans are willing to see some cuts in Medicare, but as you would expect, the older the respondent, the less willing;

CBS News/NYT Polls: 4/21/11 - CBS News

48%-45% are willing to cut.

Convert to private insurance?

47%-41%.
