You know, that 3rd war that we don't hear much about anymore? Apparently...not well.

Gates says Obama has approved use of armed Predator drones in Libya :: The Republic

Quote:
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has approved the use of armed Predator drone aircraft in Libya to improve the precision of low-level attacks on ground targets, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday.
Pentagon and WH at odds?

Obama White House, Pentagon At Odds Over Libya Policy

Quote:
"It's a mess," lamented a senior U.S. official. Washington took the bold step of committing military force, but not enough to win. The administration waited to apply very limited military force until it was almost too late, and now, the official says, it has painted the U.S. "into a corner."
Ah gawds! That's what I said.

I think we're up to almost a billion in cost and with the predator drones you can probably double that in the near future.

What an absolute clusterfark.

I love how your thread titles ask, and then answer a rhetorical sounding question. Serious, I enjoy the use of quotes from the article to deliver a point.

Anyway, I thought Libya was on the hush-hush. I am getting a worse and worse vibe from the whole situation.

Drones have been there since day one. We all know where this is going, boots on the ground to take out another dictator. Only this time, we are protecting someone elses interests (France) instead of our own. It makes little sense to anyone paying attention.

Major mission creep, which will be messy now that Ghadaffi has cemented his hold.

If George Bush were in office this would be all the media would be talking about. Since the Great One is in office the media must keep quiet on anything that could possibly embarrass him.

Why are we involved in yet another civil war halfway around the world? THIS is a prime example of why we need to cut our defense budget.

You should've been here when people were screaming for him to go in.

exactly, you would've thought we ceased all operations b/c I hear NOTHING about it by the MSM. Amazing. CNN went from 24/7 coverage to nothing.

just like you heard almost nothing about those US soldiers posing with dead bodies like hunting trophies, that was o's abu graib but the media is very silent.

Sure, because the media didn't go along with Bush's expansion of wars and military attacks.

Good catch. This is typical of how she operates. Attack Obama from whatever angle you can. In this case 1) Obama is a wimp for not helping...then later 2) Obama is being too aggressive. She very likely supports the use of the military to attack Arabs...but that's beside the point....The point is she can come up with an angle to attack Obama.

Another fraud she will pull is attack Democrats for not going along with assaults on civil liberties like the Patriot Act...but now that Obama is in power..she's all about Libertarian ideals pointing out his flaws in this area.

It's a shame the archives only go back to 2007....I could show you things that would make your head spin....lol
