Obama's townhall event at Facebook was quite the thing to behold. To say it was a friendly atmosphere for the president would be something of an understatement. The president enjoyed lots of softballs and applause and was never challenged on his answers. Based on his interaction with a local Texas TV reporter earilier this week -- that's just the way he likes it.
The question is, will the media and concerned voters let him get away with doing everything on his terms for the rest of the campaign? Over at the Examiner, Byron York notes that they weren't so easy on Bush (http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/2011/04/obama-mistakes-cant-think-any - broken link):
Well, the people tried to ask the tough questions on Obama's FaceBook wall but for some reason Obama decided not to address those meetings at the TownHall as was supposed to be the case.

That coward
I can't imagine if Trump is the candidate of GOP, Obama would cry
It doesn't surprise me that some are disappointed that others show more self-respect, if not respect for Pres. Obama, and refrained from asking Obama stupid and/or pointless questions when they have an opportunity to do something as historic as interface with a sitting President one on one. Is that really what you would do with your opportunity odanny? Ask him about his birth certificate? Really? I gotta say, I don't believe you. Seems to me the crowd was obsessed with gas prices. The clip I saw, student after student asked questions in some way dealing with oil and gas prices. Sad really, $4.00+ gasoline should not be a sophmore's most pressing issue, but at least they didn't get stupid. More than I can say for some of us at P&OC
