Whether oil is at $50 or $250, what would happen if the government permanently fixed the price of gasoline to $4/gallon, meaning it would never become more expensive or less expensive than that, no matter what oil did. In my opinion consumers can handle $4 gas, but right now all the hysteria is most economists are predicting, $5, $6 or some even $7 gas this year, which would be disastrous for consumers and our economy. Thoughts?

He'd have to find a new Energy Secretary for starters, since Mr. Chu would undoubtedly resign since he'd never be able to achieve his stated objective of European-level gasoline prices in this country.

The Government would have to take over the entire oil industry in the USA.

If they mandated no fuel over $4 they would have to quit taxing the fuel, for one since the government makes more in taxes off a gallon of gas or diesel, that the oil companies do after refining it and reselling it.

Then when it was no longer profitable. The oil companies would close and not do business here at all. No one keeps the doors open at a loss.

What, the government subsidizing the oil industry?? Paying them with our tax dollars the profits they need over $4 a gallon to stay in business. Are you kidding??

The Republicans would make even more money and love it.

They would use some of it to buy even more corrupt politicians and judges.

In turn, those officials would continue their puppet masters agenda, destroying our freedoms and jobs.

There is no oil shortage in the world currently.

It is all a scam controlled by the oil magnates , their political cronies, and speculators.

The multinational corporate oligarchs appear to be trying to own and enslave all of us.

They do not seem to believe in Democracy and the peoples right to vote in free and fair elections.

Left up to them, voting in the future will be by stock ownership on a one share one vote basis.

If you own enough shares to qualify to vote. Only then you will be allowed to vote.

Don't believe the U.S.A. can be destroyed from within?

Neither did the Germans before Hitler destroyed their country.
