No. The government watching Monsanto is akin to the old sleeping dog guarding a hen house. But, Monsanto is a ravenous fox guarding the hens. Not a good situation. They have proven (time and time again) that they do not care about their own people, let alone anyone else. They are all about the bottom-line. I live just outside St. Louis and we know of them quite well as they are out of STL.
They are trying to rid the planet of the human pest problem.

What in Hell did you expect when you voted "Konservatives" into power? Monsanto is just one of way too many businesses owned by our "New Aristocracy" that only exist to monopolize whatever market they "serve".

I also have a lot of family that farms. I agree that they aren't exactly charitable in some of their actions. I am cynical though, about the government's ability to actually enforce law fairly.

I'd say most real liberals would oppose corporations policing themselves while many "establisment" and moderate democrats support government corporate collusion.
Yeah, the self administratuion of the Mortage security and credit trading industries worked out so well did it not? The result of that was massive impoversation for many and near infinite profits for a few. The result of the biowizardy of Monsanto is still unpredictable.
We do not need any more pre purchased politicians in power. We need a very angry person like me. Those would be interesting times for Monsanto and many other would be monopolists.

Complain about paying taxes and work hard ranting about government spending. Then complain about how the government doesn't regulate private industry well...because they don't have the power and the funding to do the job.
We should set SETI to broadcast a message instead. "No intelligent life here, please move on for your own sake".
