Gee this worked so well for the banksters didn't it ?
The USDA is going to allow Monsanto to do its own environmental impact studies on it's own GMO crops. I'm sure Monsanto or it's contractors WILL behave in an ethical manner, just like the banksters did, while "policing" themselves.
Monsanto Will Soon Be Allowed To Police Itself | Fast Company
"Because the USDA is so bad at doing its job on time, the agency decided to see if anyone else was prepared to do its EIS work instead. And so it looks like the USDA will at least temporarily hand over environmental impact responsibilities to the biotech companies behind GMO crops. The pilot program will allow these companies to conduct their own environmental assessments of crops or outsource the work to contractors."

The sad part is whatever "creation" Monsanto releases into the environment can't be undone.

From what I understand, Monsanto sues farmers whose crops are cross-pollinated by neighboring farms. You also cannot patent a seed in any reasonable context.

The USG is the regulator. It's their job to do their job.
But the USDA is in bed and has been in bed with industry for some time.
It took a judge to tell Monsanto to tear up their experimentals beets because no impact study was done. The USDA didn't stop them..a judge did.
The regulators aren't regulating so what does it matter if Monsanto does their own policing now ? They're doing what they want anyway in spite of government regulators.

No. The government watching Monsanto is akin to the old sleeping dog guarding a hen house. But, Monsanto is a ravenous fox guarding the hens. Not a good situation. They have proven (time and time again) that they do not care about their own people, let alone anyone else. They are all about the bottom-line. I live just outside St. Louis and we know of them quite well as they are out of STL.

Exactly. There is some documentary on that whole situation. Interesting stuff.
