this thread is obviously beyond dumb. there is no way in hell that duke could win the nomination. repubs probably wish more than dems that he'd go away.

i know it's hypothetical but come on. you're basically just trying to get peopel who don't like obama to say they'd vote for him if david duke was the repub nomination.

i don't get what the point is.

that said, i am glad for this handy list of racists on city-data that this pole has provided:

BirchBarlow, Calvinist, Donn2390, jtur88, nicet4, Roadking2003, SourD

at least y'all had the guts to admit it.

A google search should not be that hard to do if you want to know.
Not actually happening, gotcha.

Obama owns having a white mother and a black father, so how is he a racist?

What does the color of his birth parents have to do with whether he's racist or not?

On that point you'll get no argument from me.

I don't understand how a person could be racist against their own identity.

They should. We're a big voting bloc. (shrugs shoulders)

Hell, they'd BETTER pander to us! Just like the Republicans do for the Cuban community, Evangelical community, Tea Partiers, other Hispanics (those "Viva Bush!" bumper stickers ring a bell...yea, i thought so), and the AIPAC types.

Byrd apologized for his Klan membership as a young man and his racist record in the House and during his first term in the Senate, and repudiated his former racism.

Duke while leaving the Klan not only didn't repudiate (or "refudiate") his racism, but has maintained his racist beliefs to this day. Additionally, he's been spending plenty of time in Tehran hanging with Ahmadinejad, his close friend and fellow antisemite. Duke when running for governor compared himself to Byrd and Hugo Black, but there's a massive difference. Duke has always been a racist and still is a racist. Byrd renounced his racism (even George Wallace renounced his racism before his final term as Alabama governor). Black not only renounced his racism but was known as a great champion of civil rights on the Supreme Court, and was the first SCOTUS justice to hire black staffers (in 1938, when that was by no means common. Duke is still a bigot in every inch of his body.

When you can only come up with one Democrat to point a finger at that amply demonstrates the paucity of the Republican argument.
