More of that good economic "news";

News Headlines (http://www.cnbc.com/id/42796520 - broken link)

Quote:
U.S. economic growth slowed more than expected in the first quarter as higher food and gasoline prices dampened consumer spending, and sent a broad measure of inflation rising at its fastest pace in 2-1/2 years.
More people applied for unemployment benefits - Yahoo! Finance (http://finance.yahoo.com/news/More-people-applied-for-apf-1056781553.html?x=0&.v=2 - broken link)

Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- More people sought unemployment benefits last week, the second rise in three weeks, a sign the job market's recovery is slow and uneven.

The Labor Department says applications for unemployment benefits jumped 25,000 to a seasonally adjusted 429,000 for the week ending April 23.
THIS is what obama should be concentrating on - jobs, jobs, jobs, not campaigning and fund raising.

I'd say some people need to expand their "good news" sources....beyond the propaganda of the White House.

How wrong can they be?

Is this guy serious? All that is going on in this country, around the world and he is focused like fly on dung to campaigning, 19 months out.

Shameful, negligent, amateurish.
and if we don't have time for this sillyness, how come we had to wonder about it for so long...

Was it silly when Bush attended fundraisers, when he was prez?

If attending fundraisers is 'silly', logic would conclude..yes, bush was silly, too, along with every other president who attended fundraisers while president.

Anyone have any spare logic to donate?

Obama is correct. We don't have time for this silliness.... but HE does. Interesting that he says we don't have time, but he has no problem wasting lots of people's time on this topic for two plus years.

However, I find myself defending him over unfair jabs. OMG - he took a week vacation - how dare he - when everyone accepted the fact that Bush took more vacations than any other president before him, setting a huge record. OMG, he's campaigning when everything that is broken is not repaired yet - when ALL sitting Presidents have done that in the last few decades, because we run our politics on a money system that sets our politicians up to be sold to the highest bidder. OMG - his name is funny, must mean he wasn't born here, so he must produce a birth certificate - when that has never come up before this election. OMG - Michelle Obama is trying to get kids to eat healthy (you think that would be a good thing in the time of escalating health care costs and childhood obesity) - when all First Ladies have had their "causes", this one no more controversial than the others, and certainly more relevant. OMG - he has dishonored the Presidency by putting his feet on the desk in the Oval Office - they did shut up when a photo was produced with Bush's feet on the desk. It just goes on and on and on and on.

I would feel more free to justifiably criticize him if there was not so much garbage out there.
Excellent - EXCELLENT - post. Says it all.

Must be the result of the tea sipping Pubs in the house. The economy was picking up until they took office three months ago. Now that they've revealed their nutty agenda, some folks are waking up. And the economic slowdown coincides exactly with their term.

Many are very upset with the Republican proposals.

Others cling to the GOP party line like a fish on the hook, unable to break free and swim for themselves.

First it was blame Bush,Bush,Bush now its the birthers and their silliness distracting him and Congress from tackling our problems.Didn't they spend a large amount of time about health care with total control to pass anything they wanted before the American people spoke loud and clear in November.Excuses, excuses, excuses bet Bo his dog ate his homework.
