When is the nation going go break up into conservative and liberal land again? If the nation does break up, will liberals in liberal land immediately hate thier own country and love conservative land as a show of thier "patriotism"? Being a liberal would give me a headache, as the 'rules" and "core beliefs" seem to change with the wind.

??? I think you are correct. Seem is the operative word. Liberal values are quite clear and defined and you of all people know them when you see them. Doesn't sound inconsistent to me. What really is your point? Did we ever have a wealth and income gap like the present one? So why would you imagine that liberals of the 50's needed to stress economic matters like 21st Century liberals do? Conservatives never had to DOMA until there was a challenge to the status quo. Things do change. Values mostly don't. I wish they could though. I wish Conservatives could get a clue and see where there values fall outside of sustainable.
