It isn't just his wife that is importing goods---jewelry in her case---for resale. Donald Trump has his own label of suits, ties and other gear what are made overseas. He also buys furniture, fabrics and building materials for his hotels overseas. If he really cared about the American worker the way he his NOW claiming he does, why doesn't he manufacture his own line of furniture, clothing and other goods here?

Because the US is not business friendly.

He has a point.

Wow. If I tried to tell my wife what to think or do, I think that my ability to tell her the next time would be impaired by a speech impediment. It is tough to speak with one's head shoved squarely up one's a*s.
In other words, Trump is against imports from China unless his wife is profiting from it. I see.

But my issue was with the OP implying that Trump's wife is under his thumb.

Nah, you can judge the Donald by what Donald does.

Guess Where Donald Trump's Menswear Line Is Manufactured?

Quote:
Trump has long complained of China's currency manipulation and called for a 25% tariff on imports from China. He has even exhorted Americans to stop buying cheap Chinese-made goods.
We wonder if that includes the Donald J. Trump Signature Collection, Trump's menswear line that is the "pinnacle of style and sophistication" and, as luck would have it, made in China.

So now the OP is hijacking his/her own thread to focus on where Trump's Menswear line if manufactured. Shouldn't that be another thread?

Sad, disgusting - due to the unions.
That's really funny the German economy is booming with low unemployment and they have a far higher percentage of union workers than the United States does.

International comparisons of labor unions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
In the mid-1950s, 36% of the United States labor force was unionized. At America's union peak in the 1950s, union membership was lower in the United States than in most comparable countries. By 1989, that figure had dropped to about 16%, the lowest percentage of any developed democracy, except France. Other union membership for other developed democracies, in 1990 were:[1]
95% in Sweden and Denmark.
85% in Finland
Over 60% in Norway and Austria
Over 60% in Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Over 30% in West Germany and Italy.
German Unemployment Declines to 19-Year Low as Export Boom Drives Demand

Quote:
German unemployment fell below 3 million for the first time in almost 19 years in April in adjusted terms, increasing the likelihood that household spending will boost economic growth.

The number of people out of work dropped a seasonally adjusted 37,000 to 2.97 million, the Nuremberg-based Federal Labor Agency said today, the lowest level since June 1992. The decline matched the median of 34 estimates in a Bloomberg News survey of economists. The jobless rate was unchanged at 7.1 percent.

German companies are hiring as they increase production to meet booming export orders, fueling domestic demand. The government expects the economy, Europe’s largest, to expand 2.6 percent this year after last year’s record 3.6 percent growth.
Now how come Germany which has a much higher percentage of unions workers have an economy that is enjoying an boom while the United States struggles?

German firms REFUSE to ship highly technical manufacturing offshore. The United States willfully gives away it's highly technical manufacturing i.e. semiconductor manufacturing, and aircraft manufacuturing to get access to foreign markets i.e. China.

Government, labor unions, and corporations in Germany work TOGETHER to formulate a NATIONAL ECONOMIC POLICY where EVERYBODY'S INTERESTS ARE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION.

STOP LISTENING TO FOX NEWS AND WAKE THE HELL UP!

WHEN WILL AMERICANS WAKE THE HELL UP AND REALIZE THEY ARE BEING SOLD OUT BY CORPORATE AMERICA!
