I would like to see everyone have the possibility of going to heaven and that is why I advocate that the rich be taxed to a point that they are no longer rich, thereby making it easier for their soul not to burn in Hell fire for all of eternity for being greedy bastards.

God bless Obama and some of the democrats for doing the Lords work by advocating that the Rich pay their fair share.

I think Jesus was referring to the attitudes of people. If you took their wealth by legal theft (i.e. taxation) you would not change their attitudes so your way of 'helping' them avoid hell wouldn't work-- like that was ever your intent.

Also, for those of you who don't know this, Jesus wasn't speaking literally. The 'eye of a needle' referred to the name of a gate in Jerusalem that was notoriously difficult to travel through.

God does not abhor a righteous wealthy man - look to Abraham in Genesis.

For that matter, the gold in Exodus did not become a problem until it was molded into graven images.

The notion that Christians (rich or poor) must submit to the false prophet middleman Godvernment for their redemption is beyond preposterous.

This thread has to be at the bottom of the forums cesspool. Anyone can take the bible to try to to support some kind of political ideology. For example I can prove Jesus was against socialism and he did not want to feed people on a daily basis{like we do in the U S} Take the story of the fishes and loaves in my own words. Jesus took a few fish and loaves and prayed over them and by a miracle fed a few thousand people. Then Jesus got on a boat and when he landed lo and behold there was the multitude of people waiting for him. Jesus repeated the miracle and told them to go home. Now if Jesus believed in socialism and there was famine in the land why did he only do this miracle twice? Why didn't Jesus start a food bank and feed everyone on a daily basis?
Any moron including myself can take scripture and politicize it, the bible is a spiritual book for the christian faith. I usually stay out of threads that come from the cesspool there is no knowledge to be gained just a bunch of pathetic nonsense including the story I told.

"THOU SHALL NOT COVET THY NEIGHBOR'S GOODS".

Plus, half the rich disappeared with the recession and as you tax the upper bracket more you get diminishing returns as the DOERS decide it isn't worth their trouble and you make jobs go away.
Not a bright move at all, so of course that would probably be what Obama wants to do.

and dont forget job. remember that he was tested by satan, with approval from god, and even though everything that job worked for his whole life was taken from him, including his health, job remained steadfast in his devotion to god, and god rewarded him with even greater riches. which only goes to show it isnt about the money, but rather the person and what is in their heart.

I agree, God probably didn't want us to ride a 1976 Pinto and would like is all to prosper. To prosper one must work at something, not sit on one's butt and collect welfare.

So the government should not emulate Satan by taking away a vast amount of people's earned money, I agree.

I know you posted this in jest, but if you had any idea what this passage is all about, you would not have posted it.

Thank you for proving my point!
