Your just talking Social Security. What about federal workers
with federal pensions, and career military pensions.
There are a lot of folks 50 and over who are federally dependent who feel more entitled than any College Student.
What do they want to pay....absolutely nothing. Our young are not the greedy.

A lot of it is federal grants and loans too - yes it is their debt.

And many of these students attended public schools for 13-14 years and a whole hell of a lot of money went to them for that.

Like I said, it's stupid to ask college kids if they would like to write a check for $47k when their main concern is scrounging up beer money for the weekend.

The fact that this thread has any getting traction is ridiculous.

I pay between 50 and 60k in federal taxes every year after deductions, and I have done so for about the last 8 years. I would gladly pay an additional 47k for 2011 if it would mean an end to the ridiculous pattern of taxing and spending we currently have.

But it wouldn't and I think we all know that.

Congress would see your extra $47K as more money to spend rather than put towards reducing any debt.

It wouldn't work. In spite of all the money being thrown at it, poverty is only growing. Obama is doing all he can to bring in more cheap labor to bring wages down and unemployment high. And his cheap illegal labor only adds to the fast growing poverty as they have ultra large families they can never support. Our welfare programs only bring in more poverty, create more poverty. They are an utter failure.

Well then I hope they can prove that they did not benfit frommnay of the tax breaks for beig s tudent or the huge amounts spent on edcuation. If what they say is true then those who have no kids that paid school taxes are due a huge refund ad they should be poaid by those who claim that they owe nothing for their supported education .
