Many public schools did the same thing. I knew of a pedophile in the schools here. They gave him another change and he molested again. Now we are more educated about the whole thing. Should the schools be closed for that mistake and believing the experts?

Nope, that's the definition in every dictionary. All religions have always been cults. It's just that the popular/larger ones are accepted while the newer/small ones like the Branch Davidians are considered cults.

Actually, that is exactly what Nero did to the early Christians. He had them rolled into carpets and when he walked to the coliseum they lit them so he could see his way plus hear the screams of the Christians being burned alive. See you are not the first one to think of that.

Religion drives people to do very strange things, accept the existence of ridiculous rituals and apologize for vile acts.
Atheist Russia did horrible things when religions were taken away. I would not blame everything on religion.
Russians didn't do that in the name of "atheism", that was Stalinism..Religions do their horrible deeds in the name of their religion no matter the country or political ideology. Big difference.
