It's not the President that does this. Obama wasn't doing the intelligence analysis. It's the intelligence community, and their jobs don't turn over with each administration. The same people were studying the information under Obama that were under Bush. It took them that long to piece it all together. If they had it all together while Bush was in office, why would it take Obama this long to give the order? The answer is because it was a long process that began under the Bush administration and ended under the Obama administration. To act as though it all happened last week is to diminish the years of effort put in by our intelligence and out military.

None of this will matter at the end of the day.

People will remember that Obama got him, and he will use it for political capital.

He is also in a great position to make his detractors look even more ridiculous.

Incorrect. God created man with free will. Man has a choice to do good or evil.

Why would God create earth and man if we were just a bunch of programed robots? Makes no sense.

There is a God and man in this case chose to do evil.

We can't forget the foundation placed by GW. Thank God for GW and Obama.
Wow! Seriously? That blowhard of a C student could not do anything without Cheney who was one pacemaker malfunction away from kicking the bucket . Both those bumbling idiots ran the country into the ground and we are suffering for it today. Why is it not surprising that the only president that we have in ages with poise, intelligence, respect for fellow allies, and the moral fortitude to restore Americas reputation around the world, would still not get the credit he deserves for doing something those two Bevis (Bush) & Butthead (Cheney) characters could not do for two terms.

"The apparatus to get Bin Laden was put in place by GW" .. Are you kidding me? Let me ask a question here ... If I am a CEO employed to clean up a failed company and succeeds where my predecessor did not ... should he get the credit for the work I am now doing? I do not think so! So because Obama is not strutting his stuff on the south lawn like "Deputy Dog" or walking with his hands cocked to his side like he is some bad ass who is about to draw his 6 shooter at the OK Coral, does not mean he is not a strong leader.

I am an Independent American who love this country just like the next guy, so it is an insulting to me when Republicans go off half cocked spewing their vile rhetoric and pretending that they are the only ones that love this country. It took balls to do what Obama did ... he ultimately made the call to take out Bin Laden - NOT Bush or Cheney ... those idiots could not find a hooker in a brothel (for lack of a more inappropriate word ) much more finding Bin Laden. If this had gone wrong Obama and Obama alone would have received the blame, so it is only fair that he receives the credit. He showed more class than Bush and Cheney would by calling our former John Wayne in Chief to tell him what happened.

Let us not forget the following:-

1. Bush started two wars - Obama get stuck with them
2. Bush wrecked the economy - Obama is getting blamed for not fixing it fast enough.
3. Bush and Cheney sold the country to the Chinese - Obama gets hammered for that too.
4. Bush and his treasury secretary took the first "tarp funds" and gave it to the banks who are making money hand over fist and denying hardworking Americans loans - Obama gets blamed for it all.

Where does it stop ... How can we criticize other countries when we have enough hatred among ourselves that it is pathetic.

Well Done President Obama.
well said. fwiw I don't have such hatred for Bush, yet when you see comments here as much as the myopic short sighted far right here saying ...
"only Bush has the tough balls of a cowboy to take this job done".... Its like 9th graders, no wonder Beck was so popular. The attitude is rudimentary.

I'm sure that nobody feels that it was Obama alone that caught Bin Laden. I'm sure we all realise that it took effort from all sources to finally track him down. I'm also sure we all realise that Obama for the first time did not allow Pakistan to thwart any effort to go in and get Bin Laden as has probably been done numerous times over the past ten years. This is why he has been killed on Obama's watch.... as they say...... " Those who can, Do and those who can't Blames everyone else"

As a foreigner; I'd surmise one of the earliest meetings that Obama and his team had was with the out going security advisors and it would have gone something like this: Mr president we've had various resources tasked with the mission to track Usama to his lair. We almost got him in Torraa Boraah but he elluded capture by skipping over the border into Pakistan and as you can appreciate our intelligence resources in Pakistan are rather limited and reliant on their need for military equipment at any given moment as to their willingness to help us. So it will fall to you to make the decision as to whether you wish to call off the hunt and explain to the American people that he's not worth the effort or continue and expand the effort as we continue to build on and regain some semblance of accurate intelligence out of that totally retarded region.

Yes it happened on Obama's watch and was a success so he get's the kudo's just as Jimmy Carter got the razzies for a bunch of helicopters eating a sand sandwich on a futile rescue attempt in Iran.

That's the nature of politics, 15 minutes of fame followed by years of shovelling coal in Coventry. His military, intelligence community, and yes his advisors sitting next to him all deserve a measure of the credit for this cretin eatin a dirt pie.

Think of the sheer immensity of this achievment; Chinook helicopters with Seal Team Six rappeling down ropes and engaging a compound full of guys with AK's who know how to use them, then entering a bunch of buildings to be confronted with family members being used as shields and just one of those seals, and it could have been any member, double-tapping old liver-lips right in the face, then gathering up the carcass (ofal) and beat-feeting back out of there. This means at least one of those Chinooks had to get down on the ground to reload those boys somewhere near. A thoroughly remarkable mission with no American casualties. OUTSTANDING!

It should make every one of you proud without getting into the "whose claiming the credit" game. I think that argument is better left to the political pundits at CNN, they're low enough to carry it off.

Fair is fair. He's in charge. If he gets the blame him for bombing Libya he gets credit for the Bin Laden. Could have easily denied the raid but he didn't. Good decision.
