Even a 7 point increase would surpass the boost he received following the assassination attempt on Rep. Giffords.

So, how high can it go? 10 points? 20 points? Will he surpass Bush's 90%?
Would you like to follow up today?

How about some polls to back up your comments now?

Gas is still $4.29 / gallon..... and rising. (shakes head)

Our dollar is still shrinking....and our debt to China is Galactic.

Americans are so fickle.....our attention span is so short.

I heard his approval rating went up 9 points, the same amount that pres. Bush's went up after Saddam was captured.

If you had read the links I posted, you would have seen that Gallup did not expect to see the full results until the end of the week. Today's average is a 3 day rolling average that includes the two days before Osama was killed.

Only time will tell, but if history holds true, the impact on Obama's approval rating will be fleeting.

The unemployment rate may have been lower in 92 than it is now, but in the last 12 months we have added about double the amount of jobs compared to the 12 months leading to the 92 election
Unemployment does not mean much, the '91 recession was not all that severe. It was only made worse by a few hundred thousand defense contractor layoffs. In the 12 months leading up to the '92 election, just over 900k jobs were created, which is slightly less than the 940k created in the 12 months of 2010. And once again, smaller workforce and population back in '92.

Still largely irrelevant. The original point was the economy was doing fine from the spring of '92 through election day.

I have nothing to follow up on. Wait until Friday or Saturday and get back to me with that question.

Yeah, just in the ridiculous ABC poll. Meanwhile, in the same poll, he's sucking wind on the economy. They give more credit to the military, CIA than obama.

Of course, they forgot to include the party ID in the poll.

All others are a one/two-pointer.'

But don't you worry, the media will make sure he gets the bump they think he should get. Finger on the scale.
