Not sure I see how; he's the commander-in-chief. If he says 'no-go' it's no-go.

Lots of things are possible, but that doesn't really seem plausible at all. Their efforts to read that photo by drawing conclusions from the look on Obama's face smacks of really shabby journalism.

What's being reported is that he made the decision to have a ground operation instead of an air strike, a few on his team disagreed, and he made the decision in spite of their objections.

The commander-in-chief doesn't get overruled.

Rubbish. It's not shabby journalism, it's no journalism at all.

The final decision rests with the POTUS. Political Science 101.

No. President Obama made it clear before he was elected President that he believed that taking out Bin Laden was a high priority. I know we tend to disregard such statements from politicians, especially during campaigns, but he said "We will kill Bin Laden", and that's exactly what happened.
President-elect Barack Obama wants to renew the U.S. commitment to finding al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, according to his national security advisers.

The Obama team believes the Bush administration has downplayed the importance of catching the FBI's most-wanted terrorist because it has not been able to find him.

"We will kill bin Laden. We will crush al Qaeda. That has to be our biggest national security priority," Obama said during the presidential debate on October 7.
