I hope these Conservatives try to dismantle the Canadian health care and start putting pot smokers in jail. Maybe these Western Conservatives would eliminate the dual language system and force all the Québécois to use proper English. Or cut off the subsidies to the Eastern Provinces so all the Newfoundlanders would move to English speaking Quebec. That would really be fun to watch.

The great flood-tide of liberal destruction is subsiding. All will be right with the world soon. Europe casting of liberalism, Canada casting off liberalism, and America started the process in 2010, and will continue in 2012.
More prisons. (Even though there's less crime, time to jail pot smokers)
More military spending.
More debt.
More privatization.
More corporate tax cuts.
More pro-oil lobbying.
Less health care.
Less social security.
Less education spending.

The Liberals collapsed mostly because of an incredibly weak leader in Michael Ignatieff. Negative adds by the Conservative Party portraying him as an American Carpetbagger also were very effective.
The Conservatives have moved to the centre, more than the electorate has moved to the right. The popular vote was 40% for the Conservatives. That means that 60% of the voters did not support them. The biggest gain of the night was for the New Democratic Party, much further to the left than the Liberals.
The Bloc collapsed in Quebec because they have accomplished nothing for that province. The NDP may suffer the same fate in the next election. The Quebecois voters are notoriously fickle.
Finally I believe that the vast majority of Canadians, no matter who they voted for, feel that the Conservatives legitimately won a fair election and they are ready to support Harper until the next election.
Here you go Sanrene, read the real facts from an actual Canadian above. Topics created like this makes me irritable for when I travel abroad and meeti with foreigners who laugh at our international knowledge and assume most Americans think like Sanrene.
It's fine to be conservative, but at least be knowledgable of other countries before making blanket statements.
