Neo Progs are incessantly whining about how evil water boarding is, yet they are now rejoicing that Bin Laden took two between the eyes. Help me understand the tortured logic so I don't assume hypocrisy.
It's not simply a matter of personal opinion. After WW2 the US tried and executed Japanese officers who waterboarded American POWs stating it was a clear example of torture which periodically resulting in prisoners dying. The US has also had subjects die while being waterboarded. It's a fact that the US defined waterboarding as torture when it happened to Americans just as it is a fact we executed Japanese officers for it saying it was a war crime.
Then why is waterboarding used on some U.S. troops for training purposes?
They got the info they needed that lead to finding OBL, through torture. The point is, the dems are hypocrites. They scream about Republicans using prisons and tourture to get important info out of these terrorists, but that is exactly what they did as well.
The left can no longer accuse the right of being war mongers, when Obama is doing the exact same thing that the right has done. Of course he is, he knows that it is what works.
Anyone on the left who is happy about UBL being dead needs to remember that waterboarding is the thing that got this ball rolling.
and rendition (holding people without trial in places like GITMO) was the second thing that got us to UBL.
