Not anymore dumb and misinformed than the rest of the world. I doubt very much that most Haitians for example can correctly name the capital of California or that most Cambodians know how many states there are in the U.S or that most Czechs can name how many senators we have in the U.S.

Look at the shape are country is in and read and listen to partisans from both parties. Both parties have had a hand in destroying the country, but on election day the sheeple show up and vote for the very people that have played key roles. Even the so called informed would have to be considered stupid when they are accomplices to giving corporations and the banksters power over their so called leaders. And they show up every Nov 4th and get their little I VOTED button and pat themselves on the back for their great patriotism.

Mostly agreed, but my agreeance depends on your definition of "dumb."

I think it means "stupid" in this case, which would indicate a low level of intelligence. It is also a very different thing than "ignorant," which means that one is uninformed. Sadly, too many depend on one or two sources of information, if they seek any at all. TBS, I think that far too many Americans are ignorant, and some by choice.

I think most Americans are busy. And when you are short on time, you try to take shortcuts to keep informed. Something we all do. Sometimes those shortcuts can be tricky, and we end up not getting the quality or actual information we need. Sometimes we get so much information that we throw up our hands because who can sort it all out? The problem is that no source is a good source all the time, every source is fallible, and we have to utilize multiple information sources to know when a source has failed, but that requires time, a resource that's in short supply.

Dumb and misinformed only due to laziness.

People expect everything (info) fed to them, and everything done for them. NOW.
Computers even correct our spelling.
People get in cars to drive up one block.
If it's not convenient, screw it.
Complacent + entitled + lazy = DUMB.

People I know would believe water is dry, and the Earth is flat if they heard it on the "news." Sheeple Syndrome. Just going with the flow...too busy texting to do anything.
