Muslim sensibilities: I heard a lot about that while on active duty during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. It really angered me. I believed then, and I still believe now, that I will respect your "sensibilities" when you respect mine wether you're Muslim or not.

Right or wrong, the truth is I don't give a rat's behind about Muslim sensibilities and that's why I voted no.

I understand the need to hurt and humiliate OBL even if posthumously. I just don't know if it would ever be enough.

I think we all agree that his ideas and actions are barbaric, inhuman and despicable. He was one vile POS.

"Desecrating" his body is all fine and well, but I find it insufficient. Seriously, it's not enough.

Regardless of how tough it is, I want to deny him the last chance to defile us as a people. I want to deny him the last word and the last victory. That bastard IS NOT going to corrupt who WE are as a people.

If we start behaving like him and his people, then the SOB wins. He succeeded in injecting his vile into our society.

Let me put it in a different way: it's like he took a dump on our society AND we chose to never wash.

I think it's better to take the high road on this one, not because of "Muslim sensibilities" (screw that), but because WE as a people are better than him. We can behave like modern civilized people while his people remain uncivilized and primitive.

Here is why I didn't get it the first time: because Jews don't kill others to gain entrance into heaven. So the idea of burying their bodies in pig skins is moot.

Well it's clear that they are. They cite suras from the Qur'an to justify their actions. Their clerics praise their actions and call them martyrs when they attack us. They preach jihad in their mosques and madrassas. So, yes, there is a religious war going on against us.
Are WE ina religious war against them? No, we are in denial. We accept our leaders telling us that its only a few extremists who have somehow hijacked a religion and the other billion or so followers of that religion just haven't gotten around to being outraged by their religion being hijacked just yet. We believe our leaders who say Osama wasn't a true muslim yet we are supposed to not question why Obama felt the need to give him a proper Muslim burial. You can't have it both ways.

Shahidi (Jihad martyrs) believe by their nefarious acts that they ascend immediately to heaven. Using their beliefs against them, wrapping their corpses in ‘unclean’ pigskin prevents them from entering heaven for eternity. The jewish rabbinical council confirms pork by-products are able to deter terrorists Israeli police are considering using bags of pig lard in buses and other places to deter Muslim suicide bombers, Maariv reported today. The proposal received the Jerusalem rabbinate’s approval. The police’s suggestion is based on the fact that strict Muslim tradition holds that any Muslim who comes in contact with a pig before dying will be denied access to heaven."

I wish they would have done this with the body of OBL...

Good call!

I don't think we should have mentioned what we did with the body.

[keep 'em guessing]
