It appears to have been operation Geronimo, with bin Laden's actual codename being something else entirely. Geronimo being, as everybody knows, a battle cry used by US paratroopers, among others. I could understand getting miffed it had been OBL's code name - I suspect a few here would've been miffed if someone decided to use, say, TEAPARTY as a codename for a hated enemy.
As it is, much ado about nothing - if anything, the name was used to convey decisiveness and - ehm - kick-assitude.
(Frankly, I prefer the British tradition of codenaming operations without any sort of implied PR posturing or heroism. More professional.)
Geronimo is traditionally used as a battle cry by US paratroopers because Geronimo, the Apache leader, is associated with bravery in wartime. If anything the name shows respect towards Geronimo.
As NBC’s Savannah Guthrie reported on “Nightly News” last night, the operation had a code word to indicate the successful kill or capture of bin Laden: "Geronimo.” A senior US official told Guthrie that the actual transmission from the ground commander at the compound to the operational commander in Afghanistan was: "For God and country: Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo."

Sorry, the right to free speech is more important than anyones offense of it.
It's also Constitutionally guaranteed.
No one said it was illegal. Its free speech if someones says child molesters are just misunderstood doesn't mean they want be look at as sick for that statement.
Maybe they should have used Thor. Maybe He-man. No I know Obama should have used John Wayne EKIA. Maybe Elvis. Then lets watch the conservatives reaction. I would have loved Elvis EKIA.
Shoulda code-named him 'Door Nail', that should be relatively safe from offending anyone.
Then the folks at Jeld-Wen would have been crying foul...
