Much less the Plantiff was Mescalero and Geronimo was not and the plantiffs name was Geronimo and Geronimos name was not

Martin Luther King? Can you imagine the PC crap storm that would have erupted if the military reported "MLK E-KIA"?

It's not offensive to the government that wiped out his tribe and plunged his people into a Holocaust. I'm surprised that Native American's didn't expect this. They are living proof of how well you can trust capitalism run amok.

And people complain about "political correctness" but don't know a history book from a post in the ground.

I think they should've given the code name "White Christian" to the mass murder....then no one would've been offended....

Perhaps if those that hold Geronimo in such high esteem and are offended by the use of his name knew more about history in general, and the Apache Wars in particular, their opinion might be modified more than just a bit. Goyathlay (he-who-yawns) was not a hero to be admired. He was, quite bluntly, a 19th century terrorist. While his fighting skills and abilities as a warrior may be grudgingly admired, that was about the only positive thing about this man. He was never a chief, contrary to popular opinion. He was a leader that men followed because of his skills in battle and raiding. Every single account of him, from the Americans, Mexicans, Indians, and even other Apaches, describe him as extremely brutal, cruel, a drunkard quick to anger, who delighted in torturing captives to death and wanton murder. Among most Apaches he was considered to be an outlaw and was man that was feared. Sorry to all those PC worshippers, but the comparison between OBL and Geronimo is not that all out of line, whether you like it or not, both men were terrorists, just from a different era, using different methods.

It's not as easy as it sounds to walk through a briar patch.
