Even Ford, who was in the running, did not commit to making the vehicles in the US.
When given a chance, the market will choose the non-union, usually cheaper, alternative.

I am curious if Bloomberg's hedge fund holds Nissan. I'd think he'd be smarter than that....

Why wouldn't you want to go for cheaper alternatives? I mean liberals want to force companies to keep jobs here, but also want nutty unions to set wages.

I much prefer it here in SF (and most other cities), where the cabs can be more or less anything.

You have, of course, Crown Vics and Grand Marquis'; you also have a lot of hybrids ala the Prius, Escape, Altima, Camry, Civic. There are Caravans, Oddesseys, Siennas, Durangos, Explorers...

I haven't seen the details of the contract to know that cheaper was the reason, have you?

I wish that American companies could at least be competative enough to win contracts here. Keep some tax revuenues and jobs here. Their failure to compete is greatly disappointing.

And what do conservatives want? Americans working in US plants for Mexican wages to support bloated CEOs? Or would you just rather send ALL jobs overseas so you wouldn't have to sully yourselves dealing with pesky labor?

iPhone owners are the real winners here.
Every cab will have a plug to charge your phone.
Maybe they will also be able to place calls from their iphones soon.

I wouldn't call Mayor Bloomberg a Conservative by any stretch of the imagination. YMMV

Uh, I was responding to VTHokieFan who seems to think he knows what liberals want, I was just curious if he feels equally knowledgeable about what conservatives want. Or if he just had the thirst for a little whine.
