Anyone who reads this... name only three things that you would implement in order to trim down the massive debt. Go!
I would start a massive infastructure build up and replace all the old roads, freeways and bridges build new modren nuclear and natural gas power plants and up date the power grids.
Cut defense and Social programs that are wasting money and are effective sell off fed owned assets like American Airlines to the private sector and use the money to pay down the debt.
This is the number I keep reading, and yes it does sound right in line with the currrent projectory of this once fine countries NATIONAL DEBT.
I keep reading that the Fed is recommending a 2 TRILLION dollar increase in the debt limit. So by the end of 2012 we will most likely be at 16 TRILLION, 20 TRILLION by 2016 is real easy to picture.
So when inflation starts to rear its ugly head (already showing in things like food and fuel) the fed will HAVE to raise interest rates, this will make our reckless borrowing much more expensive.
And you see the politicians are jawing big time about closing the budget deficit...........no mention of paying down our horrible debt......not even on the map. Non-discretionary spending is 2.3 trillion and we take in 2.2 trillion, wow, something really wrong there.
WILL THIS COUNTRY EVER BE ABLE TO PAY DOWN THIS HUGE NATIONAL DEBT????
WHAT SOLUTIONS WOULD YOUR OFFER IF ANYBODY WOULD LISTEN TO YOU??????
DO WE NEED A CONSTITUTION AMMENDMENT THAT FORCES A BALANCE BUDGET ON OUR CREEPY POLITICIANS>>>>
First i like the Connie mack plan. 1% across the board spending cuts for 6 years. That with nothing else would balance the budget. The perhaps we could look other reforms

Hahaha, those cuts would probably be the same ole cr*p.........A REDUCTION IN THE SCHEDULED INCREASE.........that way no one has to feel any pain and we can all pretend everything is A-OK.

Wow, that is really going to help trimming the red ink????????
I gots me a goods suggestion.............if you are not a citizen.........you cannot suck off the federal/state governments TI**IES.
Congress, Republican or Democrat, has no intention of paying back trillions of dollars, it's so much easier to inflate the economy to a point where $20 Trillion is the cost of a nice house
We need to remove the red tape and drill for oil and natural gas and put the American people to work with good jobs... convert the big rigs to natural gas and get the cost of fueling our vehicles down so we can have some money to pay for food.

I am not sure why we spend so much, other then politicians trying to invent grandiose plans to buy votes and retain their power with OUR tax dollars. It is a tax, you know, when the politicians borrow money, because we will be the ones to pay it back, one way of the other.
During Clinton, it was all about balancing the budget. Then Bush was president and a few hundred billion a year in deficit spending was said to be no problem, and we could handle it. But both democrats and republicans blasted Bush for spemding like a drunken sailor. Now, under Obama, we spend a trillion or more in deficits each year, and only the republicans object.
I think spending the country into bankruptcy is not an issue for democrats, as long as they can spend, spend and spend to their heart's content, and buy votes, and retain their power.

Hey, maybe you are right.........that may explain why we are printing/borrowing money to throw aw......erm..........I mean lend to the Eurotard Union.
