How about enshrining the rights, as granted to us by the government, to a job, healthcare, retirement and housing in the Constitution?
What do you think of the following amendments?
Thoughts?
I really think that some very socialistic person wrote all this and that we just aren't to that stage yet. However, many of the people on this forum are in favor of things like this. How do we pay for all these things other than taxation? Your last suggestion called for more money than we have right now but then many people just don't understand that there is an end to what our government can get its hands on. I guess some think that constant running of the printing presses won't blow us away.

The government doesn't grant rights, period. Our rights are endowed to us by our Creator and affirmed by our Constitution. Thus, the entire premise of the OP's post is erroneous.
How about my guaranteed rights to at least one luxury car, unlimited Netflix, and a lifetime supply of pizza and beer? How about a right to unlimited ammunition and a comfy chair?
America used to be a place in which people were happy to live free and did not require the yoke of dependency through government "guarantees" in life.
So many of these people just can't understand that that dependency on government leads to socialism of some form.
All I changed was USSR to United States of America.
The point I was trying to make, and sad to report that so few actually caught on, was a government that is powerful enough to give you everything you want is powerful enough to take everything away including your liberty.
What a relief!!! I didn't think you thought like that but you did a great job of sucking in some of the lefties.
..."How about enshrining the rights, as granted to us by the government, to a job, healthcare, retirement and housing in the Constitution?"...
Your rights are not "granted" to you by the government. They are self-evident, inalienable and endowed by your Creator. They are the rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness and it's corollaries. The Government does not own you, it didn't create you and it is not your boss, your father or Santa Claus. You're not a dependent on a giant teat. You are a self-reliant individual with brains, guts, integrity, honor, courage and a great deal of pride in your ability to make your own way. An American.

The only one we need is a balanced budget amendment.
Rights are suspended until the budget is balanced.
Balance the budget
