Michael Finton, 31, who went by the name Talib Islam, pleaded guilty in a courthouse in East St. Louis to attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.
Other than that one line there is no mention of why he changed his name, or what motivated him to suddenly decide to blow up a courthouse. One can only wonder what ideology he was following that might cause him to do such things.

East St. Louis, eh? Hmmm . . a demolition in that "city" might have improved the neighborhood. Pretty sorry community there with gangs, killings (nearly on a daily basis), prostitution and drugs. All of this in a town that has no more than about 50,000 people. No small wonder an extremist would come from that town.

Why don't you tell us....since you assume that we can't read.
Why only 28 years? He won't even be 60 years old when he's out. Bets are he'll be spending those years planning his next "peaceful demonstration."
Seriously, wouldn't this warrant "life?"
Or he could follow Bill Ayers' example and ghost-write the book for whatever democrat prez candidate is running in 28 years. Heck....maybe one of Skippy's daughters will be in politics by then.
I always have problems with those excessive verdicts as for instance a rape victim might wonder why the rapist gets out after a few years (if he goes to jail in the first place) for an executed crime while someone else gets decades for a crime not even executed
