I was wondering why we "white" people are often called "racists" for not agreeing with Obama and not want to vote for him...

To me any person who voted for him just because he looks "black" and not voting for him because of his ideas...to me that is "racist" too.

Not that I care too much but I keep hearing that we are racists and that is bothering me to the point that I was thinking why are they saying that....just to hide their own feelings?

Honestly I never think about white, or black, etc...because to me the economy, etc. is way more important than that.

When I moved over here I wasn't even in favor of George Bush but in favor of Al Gore...OMG what was I thinking! I know how that happened...biased media information in Europe where you only can get CNN and CNN Europe is more socialist than CNN over here...

When we watched more than one channel (which we still do) we realized that things are different than being portraited in Europe about the USA.

(according to himself and his birth certificate his father was black and his mother was white)

Are they racist? Hard for me to say. I have to figure that for many African-Americans it must've been thrilling to have the chance to elect someone who looks like them. I would say that it is patently stupid to vote for someone only because of their race. But the other side has many stupid reasons for not voting for Obama.

What should be abundantly clear to you now, and what concerns me, is that politics in this country has become much more about advancing ideology and less about governing.

Neither one of these things is "racist".

Can you define that word ?

Still arguing about this lame topic?

Look...folks will NEVER change their minds. All whites on the right side of the aisle believe that blacks only voted for Obama because he's black, and they will never believe otherwise no matter what anyone says. They aren't interested in the actual opinions of black people on the topic....what Rush and Hannity says is what's important. I can name 100 reasons for voting for Obama over McCain, and those reasons would be completely ignored.

Bottom line, don't worry about why we voted for Obama. You aren't owed an explanation anyway. Worry about your own personal vote.

Leave it at that.

Blacks supported Obama only after he started beating Hillary in the polls...

Or am I the only one who remembers that?

Cannot get upset with this theory, we know some black people who did jsut that and for that very reason he is black as them. Did all black people do this, i really don't care, for this is not my business the job at hand is what matters most i believe, and do believe if you live in this Country and do not have not blinders on, we are in a terrible bind this economy, housing, unemployment businesses shutting doors, people not wanting to invest, we are not in a good way, because of Obama, if they are happy with all this, They do deserve him.

Bascailly like wihite if that was their reason for voting for him ;then yes its a racist vote. Same can be said of other elections where people vote for their own racis based on the candidates race.

A lot of people forget that.

I voted for Hillary in my primary....and i'm black. So you're absolutely right. And i know plenty of people who did the same. There are white candidates who could've beaten Obama in the primaries, but they didn't run.

another racist statement in your post go figure. Good to see YOU have the pulse of what white republicans think.
Bottom line, don't worry about why "we" didn't vote for Obama. You wouldn't understand the theory behind failed policies explanation anyway. Worry about your own personal vote.
Leave it at that.

the color of a persons skin has no bearing, except to racists

You cannot name 100. You don't even know Obamas policies very well much less McCains. Granted they do change since his word means little. If you did you'd know both are war mongers who believe in bailouts and manipulating the economy. One likes Wall Street and Corporations the other likes Wall Street and Unions. oh yea huge difference. pffft

Of course every one of those things was occurring when Bush was in office, and all of those were in absolute free fall as he left office.
