Good- we need more fiscal sanity. There are far too many peole out there who need to pay their own way and stop making the free ride at tax payer expense a lifestyle.

There are far too many people who need help. What happens when you have all of these sick people and no means to help them ? We should be more compassionate of our fellow Americans and other people in general.

more compassion? We've spent tens of TRILLIONS of dollars trying to resolve "poverty", hows that working out? By your own admission, not very well..

I tried to rep you but wasn't allowed. But what you wrote is really the bottom line. The federal has been abusing its taxing power to bribe people to do what they want them to do or to punish people or to redistribute wealth. It has to stop. Charity is not a function of government--at least not of the government created by our constitution.
