So if you believe in conservatism and small government, what's wrong with that? If we're only getting a "bone every once in a while," then isn't that what you want?
So are you telling me that if i vote Republican (along with the rest of my people), i'll get so many more goodies than what i'm getting with the Dems?
Hmmmmm! Alright...i'll take that deal. Where do i sign up?
Where did you get the idea that the party that "gives" you the most is the best party? It really is who is going to give you the best opportunity to succeed. Making you dependent on the government isn't doing you any favors.

Why don't more blacks understand this very basic principle? *Sigh*

Unfortunately too many people, black and white, have the "what's in it for me attitude. I am sure many have never heard "ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country"

Funny how meanings change over the years. "Stowe intended Tom to be a "noble hero"[25] and praiseworthy person. Throughout the book, far from allowing himself to be exploited, Tom stands up for his beliefs and is grudgingly admired even by his enemies." Uncle Tom's Cabin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
From what I've learned about Lt. Colonel Allen West, I think he fits the original intent rather than your meaning. I also like Herman Cain as well. I like Ron Paul's ideas but I think he is too entrenched in Washington and would like some new people in government.
See, if you get Cain on the Republican ticket simply because he's black, then that is racist. If you consider putting him on the Republican ticket because he'd make a great candidate regardless of race, but then opt out of running him because he is black, well, that is racist. If you consider running Cain but decide not to but then reconsider for fear of being seen as a racist for not supporting him, well, I don't know what to make of that. Complicated, huh?
Cain is the one who made the remark that if he opposed Obama he would be considered a "racist" so who is the one causing this bruhaha? He is! I also find it funny that the article says he is the GOP frontrunner! Since when? What polls are there that says Cain is now leading at the top of the Republican polls?
As for Cain being the GOP Presidential nominee? Yes when pigs fly.

I've always figured the "what can a candidate do for me" attitude works fairly well. The candidate who pledges to deliver the most, to the most number of people, is likely to get the most number of votes. Unfortunately the fly in the ointment is that candidates promise more than they can reasonably deliver, and before you know it, the country has a massive debt trying to pay for unrealistic promises.
