The Dems are not exempt from this either but we will get to them later...

OK, I'll bite. Things done for the working class:
1. Championed the elimination of forced deductions from the checks of workers to support political causes that the worker may not agree with.
2. Championed the freedom to choose whether or not to be part of a collective bargaining unit, and fought to preserve the private ballot method for that choice.
3. Fought for a more vibrant economy by reducing needless regulation on business, assuring a healthier job market.
4. (This is not actually something to be proud of.) Put Medicare Part D in place to give seniors a drug benefit under Medicare for the first time.
5. Fought to enhance the benefits accruing to those who seek to serve others by providing desired products and services that people voluntarily pay for. In other words, reduce marginal income tax brackets.
Now for the second list, things done for business:
A. Put in place and protected a corrupt quasi-public national mortgage system which promoted loans to people that could not pay, lied about its earnings so mega-million dollar bonuses could be paid to execs on false pretenses, and ultimately create a huge burden on taxpayers to clean up the mess. Oh, I'm sorry, that was actually Dodd and Frank and other Democrats, mostly.
B. Severely limited the production of US oil and gas reserves, causing high gas prices for consumers and enriching multinational oil companies. Oh, wait, that was Barack Obama.
C. Drilled the 99% of workers who do not belong to the UAW for the bailout of Detroit, with the primary effect of guaranteeing extra-legal, extraordinary benefits for the UAW. Every working taxpayer over the age of 50 paid so that people younger than them could still draw FULL retirement benefits sitting on their butts, instead of being pushed into the government guarantee system that would have cut their benefits until they got older. Oh, wait, that was Obama again.
D. Auctioned off special treatment in the tax code in exchange for campaign contributions, so that owners of NASCAR tracks, importers of rum, makers of windmills and other special pets could eat from the public trough. Yeah, you got me on that one--both parties are guilty of this sordid behavior.
